28/01/1800 William Smith appointed master. 28/01/1801 The Morning Post reports on LLOYD's List that the VENUS, Smith, from London to Shields is captured and the people are carried into Calais. 1801 Alloa Customs House records that on a passage from London to Newcastle, the vessel was captured by the French and carried into Amsterdam and there condemned by proof of Mr William Walker, one of the owners and further proof of William Smith the master. |
