Remarks
That launch day, New Year's Day, is unusual in itself, but may seem even more surprising was the speed with which she was in service. Having been towed to Greenock on Friday, the 1st, she was rigged, loaded and sailed to Trinidad on Monday the 4th, within the space of 70 hours. At that time, no work would have been undertaken on the intervening Sunday!
