Sank off Cananéia, (Paranaguá for Santos with timber, and 70 on board) after a collision with Argentine freighter SAN LORENZO (935g/1903), due to low visibility and poor communications between the vessels. GUASCA was struck amidships by SAN LORENZO and sank in a few minutes. 29 lives lost. |
