Sprang a leak on 08/02/1941 when 75 miles off the coast of New Jersey, beached and capsized in the Delaware River 09/02/1941 with the loss of two lives. Refloated 26/06/1941 and towed to Philadelphia, repaired and put back into service as the EMPIRE MERSEY
