Torpedoed and sunk by the German submarine U 70 in the Atlantic 13 miles north north east from St. Kilda Island, Outer Hebrides in position 58.40 north by 08.35 west whilst on a voyage from Montreal to Leith with a cargo of wheat. Three of the crew were lost.
