Disposal Detail
26/12/1889 spontaneous fire in jute cargo discovered when taking ballast at Point de Galle, Ceylon (Calcutta for London) but could not be extinguished. Some crew injured in fire-fighting.
28/12 attempts were made to scuttle her to extinguish the fire, but steel hull prevented this. Became a total loss.
