Sailed from Newcastle 26/02/1888 for San Francisco with 1500 tons coal, 20 crew and 10 passengers.
Struck a reef off Palmyra Island and all souls managed to reach the Island being marooned there until their rescue some six weeks later. Some crew had previously sailed ships boat to Samoa 1300 miles away to arrange rescue.
