For Glasgow-Londonderry service
12/5/1860 stranded in fog on Patterson's Rock, Sanda, off Mull of Kintyre (Glasgow for Londonderry on 4th voyage). All 80 passengers and 18-20 crew landed safely in boats. Refloated 13/5/1860. Inquiry determined that the accident was caused by compass being affected by additional iron guard railings being installed near the bridge. FALCON returned to service.

Disposal Detail
Wrecked near Machrihanish, when seeking shelter of Mull of Kintyre (Glasgow for Londonderry) during hurricane of snow. Only captain and two crew survived; 20 crew and about 16 passengers took to the boats but were lost.
