Vessel history
11/1900 caught fire on passage Tacoma to Leith with wheat. The cargo was completely destroyed and only the hull and masts remained. She was beached and abandoned on a coral reef at Manga Reva/Mangareva, Gambier Islands in French Polynesia. 2/1901 the wreck was bought at auction by J E Thayer, San Francisco and refloated 1905 rebuilt in San Francisco and transferred to the Ship Manga Reva Co. 9/10/1913 crew of 28 mutinied 600nm east of Bermuda (Philadelphia for San Francisco, with coal) and returned towards Philadelphia. 10/11/1913 crew were detained by US Revenue Cutter ONONDAGA

disappeared at sea on passage Rotterdam to Hampton Roads in ballast with the loss of all 13 on board (half normal crew as ballast voyage). Last contact was distress message on 19/11/1916, saying "drifting before the wind and without boats".
Also one report claims that she was sunk by a German submarine
