Disposal Detail
CARRICK sailed from Newcastle N.S.W. 09/12/1896 with coal for Valparaiso and in gale force winds on 16/12/1896 struck some floating substance which caused vessel to leak so badly as to overcome pumping power available. Crew took to boats and eventually reached Twofold Bay, on Ausrtralian Coast.
