During her 56 year career with the Bergen Line, the Caird built Jupiter was significantly altered from her initial yacht like appearance

She was declared a total loss after running aground on Rautingkalvin, at the entrance to Fensfjord, north of Bergen, on 4/12/1912. The wreck was broken up in situ during 1913.
