24/11/1853 arrived Liverpool from the Clyde
After trial with a report suggesting 10¼ knots at 40rpm, the propeller was changed at Liverpool, from Caird's 3-bladed "patent expanding pitch propeller", to a Griffith's Patent Screw giving 10½ knots at 30rpm.
30/11/1853 sailed Liverpool for Valparaiso with passengers and specie only.
6/1857 engine damaged in storm between Lota and Talcahuano; put back to Valparaiso

Went aground on Duas Point, 15 miles south of Llico, Chile (Valparaiso for Talcahuano) in thick fog and went to pieces in two hours; passengers and crew saved (probably due to compass deviation)
