25/8/1866 passed the Pentland Firth on voyage from Shields for Bombay.
On 7/9/1866 she was seen in distress with a heavy list in lat 48N, long 10W, about 200nm west of Ushant by German vessel CARL (Bremen for New Orleans), which was unable to give assistance due to the weather but stood by overnight. In the morning the ANNIE DUTHIE was no longer to be seen, and was presumed to have foundered.
