1918 seized from Russia and commissioned for use as a Despatch Vessel.

12/1939 hired for use as an Auxiliary Patrol Yacht and once again became HMS SURPRISE.
1928 Registered Jersey. Channel Islands.
By 1930 Colonial Lands Improvement Co. Ltd., St Lawrence, Jersey.
By 1940 SURPRISE was owned by Axa Investment Co Ltd, Alderney. 
Vessel history
28/02/1942 reported lost after catching fire and capsizing at Lagos, Nigeria but she reappears after the War ended and was last listed as a yacht in 1950.
