11/02/1944 Whilst off Vizagapatam in the Bay of Bengal was damaged by a torpedo from the Japanese submarine Ro-110 in a position 17.28N., 83.32E. and was subsequently towed to Calcutta for repair. The attacking submarine was sunk by convoy escorts HMAS IPSWICH, HMAS LAUNCESTON and Royal Indian Navy sloop JUMNA
