13/2/1896 struck by American Line's PARIS when berthed at Transport Quay, Southampton and sank rapidly. Raised 12/3. Repaired by J G Fay & Co, Northam and re-entered service 1/1897.

23/4/1917-24/6/1919 on Admiralty service as minesweeper No.554
In 1927 converted to carry cars, with most of the passenger accommodation removed.
