27/07/1943 Whilst under command of Captain J. H. Crellin on a voyage from Glasgow to Montevideo and Buenos Aires in convoy OS 52 was bombed by German aircraft at a position 38.04N., 12.59W., 200 miles W. N. W. of Cape St. Vincent.
