On a voyage from Cochin to Tees and outward from Southend, under Capt. C. W. Banbury, in convoy FN236, was damaged by mine explosion at position 51.52 N., 1.48 E., 25 miles east from Harwich and was taken in tow.
30/07/1940 Anchored off S. Shipwash with back broken.
31/07/1940 Beached at Hollesley in a position 52.02.22N., 01.30.08E. to prevent sinking and subsequently declared a constructive total loss.
