Abandoned after severe storm damage, including loss of steering gear, in the North Atlantic at 46.13N 37.56W (Labrador coast and Harbour Grace Nfld for Gibraltar with salt fish). Crew of six rescued by ss EUCLID (1559g/1877)
The Liverpool Shipwreck & Humane society and the Board of Trade made awards to master Thomas T Farrell of the EUCLID as well as to chief mate Christopher Jones and three crew that manned the boat that rescued the schooner's crew. |
