Sunk by Heinkel 111 bombers from No. 2 Squadron 26th Kamp Geswader based in Crete bombing during night of 7-8/10/1941 at Anchorage "H", Towala, Gulf of Suez (Durban for Alexandria with coal)(until 6/10 the Towala anchorages had been thought to be beyond the range of German bombers)
